This Is Not Our Class Website
This Focus website is NOT our class website. I maintain an individual class website for each of my periods. These class websites are on OneView. Please login to OneView to view our actual class website.
I keep this Focus website for two reasons. First, I cannot readily provide a link to our class website, yet I can for this Focus website. So, this Focus website is something that I can direct people to.
Second, logging into OneView requires district credentials (district username and district password) while this Focus website does not. Hence, everyone should be able to access this Focus website even if they have yet to get their district credentials.
I also use this Focus website to explain all of the websites we use, including district usernames and passwords. Again, please login to OneView to go to our actual class website.
District Usernames and Passwords
The school district can setup a login for each individual parent and guardian. This login allows parents and guardians to login to a website and see their child’s grades for every class. Parents and guardians are highly encouraged to obtain this district login. Parents sometimes have to come to the school in person to obtain this login information.
The district has also setup a login for each individual student. For information on a student’s username and password, read the document entitled “Student Login Information”. This document can be found on the right side of this Focus website (just look for the “STUDENTLOGIN.006.doc” document). Parents and guardians can normally figure out their child’s username and password after reading this document.
Parents and guardians may wish to use their child’s username and password to access websites. Many of these websites show more information when a student logs in than when a parent/guardian logs in. Some websites only have a student login and do not have a parent/guardian login. Parents and guardians are still encouraged to get their own username and password.
Except for Focus, I recommend that parents and guardians login to these websites using their child’s login information. For Focus, I recommend that parents and guardians login using their own login information. Any email sent through Focus tells teachers whether it is coming from a student or a parent/guardian. If a parent/guardian is sending an email, it is good for us teachers to know that for sure.
For general information on parent and guardian accounts, visit the website given just below. This website will also allow parents and guardians to start the process of creating an account.

Duval County Public Schools (DCPS) provides help specifically for parents and guardians. If a parent or guardian needs help with their accounts, they may get help using the contact information just below.
(904) 348-7628
pga_support@duvalschools.org
For help with student accounts, the phone number below can be called.
(904) 348-5150
For help with these accounts, you may also contact Ms. Rhodes here at school. She can be reached at (904) 630-6805, extension 1001. Note that this is the school’s main extension. If you call, please ask for Ms. Rhodes. If you leave a message, please make sure to mention Ms. Rhodes by name. Many different people may answer this extension and access the messages for it. Ms. Rhodes is the person here at school who “validates” parent and guardian accounts.
Logging Into Focus (Grades and Attendance)
A student’s grades and attendance can be viewed by logging into Focus. Focus has both student and parent/guardian logins. I recommend that parents/guardians login using their own login information. To login to Focus, follow the steps below.

6. If needed, put in your normal DCPS username and password. Sometimes, such as if you previously logged in during the same browser session, this will be automatically taken care of. If the system automatically logs you into the wrong account, then you will need to completely close your browser and start again.

Logging Into Pearson Realize (Main Platform: Lessons, Homework, Tests)
Pearson Realize is the main platform we use in this class. You can keep track of nearly everything going on in our class by monitoring Pearson Realize. Pearson Realize only has student logins. So, obviously, I recommend that parents/guardians login using their child’s login information. To login to Pearson Realize, follow the steps below.
1. Open the Google Chrome browser. If you don’t already have the Google Chrome browser, you may download it for free from the http://www.google.com/chrome/ website. Other browsers may not work properly with our school websites.

Click on “CLASSES” to see all of your child’s assignments. Plenty of help is built into the online homework. Also, nearly every Pearson Realize homework assignment can be completed up to three times (students should really get 100% on every homework assignment!). In addition, I post a practice test for every test. The due date of the practice test matches the date that students will take the real test in class. Thus, by keeping track of the practice tests, you can know when the real tests will be. Again, by monitoring Pearson Realize, you can keep track of nearly everything in this class.
Logging Into i-Ready (Secondary Platform)
The i-Ready platform provides online lessons for students that are individually assigned to them based on each student’s test results. The i-Ready platform only has student logins. If the system automatically logs you into the wrong account, then you will need to completely close your browser and start again.
Once logged into i-Ready, you can see lessons assigned to your child.
