Expectations
Home Learning (Homework): Complete as many practice questions for the lesson taught as you need to master the skill. Homework problems will not be graded or gone over in class. Students will receive one Dojo point if they turn in their homework with at least 3 problems completed. There is a link on this website for the pages so you can check the answers. A graded quiz will be given about every 2 to 3 weeks. The questions on the quiz will be taken from the homework practice questions.
i-Ready: i-Ready is great for building basic math foundation and skills. This web-based program can help fill in gaps in basic math understanding. Please encourage your children to spend about 10 to 15 minutes per day on i-Ready, about 3 days per week. i-Ready quiz scores are averaged and count for 25% of the quartlerly math grade.
XtraMath and Reflex Math: Please encourage your children to do one session a day. These web-based programs are designed to build fluency. When children are fluent in math facts, this frees up more of their brain to work on other math problem-solving skills.
Lesson Videos: The video will explain some of the questions on the homework assignments. Students are encouraged to follow along and fill out the worksheet with the video.
