Learning a second language is extremely beneficial.  We will discuss all of the numerous ways to use it. Taking two years of a foreign language fulfills the 4 year college requirement.  In both Spanish I and II we will gain a functional use of all 4 aspects of the target language: reading, writing, speaking, and listening. We will create dialogues, write essays, do numerous projects, and gain knowledge of other cultures by participating in several unique events.
Materials:
1 inch 3- ring binder, 5 dividers, notebook paper, pen/pencil, textbook, workbook
Student Evaluation:
We use a total point system. Testing includes written tests (100 pts), quizzes (20-30 pts), dialogues (30 pts), and essays (30 pts).  Total testing points is usually about 60% of your grade. The other 40% comes from class work, homework, and projects.

Homework is due at the beginning of the period. You will receive partial credit if incomplete depending on how much you finished.
Make-up work:
You have one day for each day missed to turn make-up work for full credit. Tests and quizzes should be made up the day you return to class. It is your responsibility to ask me for make-up work. Any other late work will receive half credit any time after due date.
