A Little About Ms. Wood!

I grew up in Jacksonville, FL.  I have 3 wonderful daughters and an amazing heart warrior son.  After the birth of my son last year, I now spend a lot of time spreading awareness for CHDs and working with The Healing Hearts Project.

I attended St. Joseph's Catholic School, Bishop Kenny High School, and graduated from UNF with a degree in Secondary Biology Education.

This is my thirteenth year teaching high school.  This year I will be teaching Biology Honors and Anatomy/Physiology.  I am the sponsor for the Environmental Club.  I look forward to all the amazing accomplishments we will make this year!

In the summer of 2012, I attended ICORE's Emerging Pathogens course at UF and am very excited to share this experience with my students.  I learned a great deal about pathogens that can harm humans, animals, and plants.  I met some of the most amazing people and have made many new friends!  Upon completing this course I became a HHMI scholar (Howard Hughes Medical Institute) and it is one of my proudest moments to date.

I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, the outdoors, and continuing my education.
