Parents should be verifiying student's grade by checking FOCUS weekly.

Students will need to complete 2-4 Achieve articles a week with a grade of an 80% or higher for their Achieve grade.

Students whose lexile is less than 1000 will want to complete 4 Achieves a week to increase reading comprehension with informational text. Remember a feature of Achieve is for the article to be read aloud while the student follows along. This strategy allows the student to become familiar with more words and deepens comrephension.

***** KEEP SCROLLING DOWN FOR MORE INFO*****

But what if I don't get 80% or higher on the 1st try?
* Do the stretch article if there is one and earn a 80% or better.
* Do a completely different article

***Students must submit a list of completed Achieve to earn credit in gradebook****
This list is due weekly starting 8/20.

date assignment due date
Daily Class Assignments are given EVERY day- Check FOCUS to see assignments AND if your child has completed it.
A zero means work was due and not submitted. Change a zero by submitting work. ;)
Don't forget, students also get to choose some of the articles based on interest too. ;)
2 Thought Questions are due each month. All responses must have the following: Restate the question, Answer the question, Cite text evidence, Explain how that text evidence supports your idea or claim.
All passwords are the same. The student id # starting with a lower case s
and the student password. This is the same user id and password students log in every day at school.
If you have a problem logging in; you have probably gone directly to Achieve instead of through the DCPS link 1st.
